New Fayette County COVID cases remain flat Christmas week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The number of new coronavirus cases in Fayette County stayed relatively stable Christmas week with 135 new cases reported Thursday, Christmas Eve. No tests were reported Friday, Christmas Day, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s morning report Saturday.

Thursday’s 135 new cases brought the total since March to 22,262.

The county also recorded two more deaths, raising the total lost to coronavirus-related causes to 155.

The county has confirmed 4,861 new cases and 22 deaths through the first 24 days of December.

That’s more than all of August, September or October.

• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others
• Wash your hands often
• Stay home if you are sick.
