Netflix to feature Keeneland and Churchill Downs in new documentary

LEXNGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- On April 22 horse racing fans can view their favorite sport in a way they’ve never seen it before.

On Netflix.

A new documentary called Race for the Crown will premiere later this month and features Keeneland, Churchill Downs and several other notable people and places for horse racing in Kentucky.

Six episodes will chronicle the journey from The Breeder’s Cup to The Triple Crown.

The trailer, which was posted on social media on Wednesday, shows 2024 Kentucky Oaks and Derby winning trainer Kenny McPeek, who is a Lexington native.

Owner Mike Repole, Jayson Werth, trainers Bob Baffert and Brad Cox and jockey Frankie Dettori can also be seen in the trailer.
