Nestlé to cut 16,000 jobs globally amid cost reductions and AI concerns

ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, announced plans to cut roughly 16,000 jobs globally over the next two years in an effort to reduce costs.

The majority of layoffs—about 12,000—will impact white-collar professionals, while 4,000 jobs will be cut in manufacturing and the supply chain to improve productivity. Overall, the cuts represent nearly six percent of Nestlé’s global workforce.

The company says these reductions come amid concerns about potential job losses across industries due to the rise of artificial intelligence, which Nestlé uses in several of its operations.
