NBA finals begin tonight on ABC 36

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36) – After a week-long break, the wait is finally over as the NBA Finals Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks tips off tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST.

Boston comes out of the East as the No. 1 seed while Dallas pulled off the upset in the West as the No. 5 seed.

The Celtics are headlined by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The Dallas Mavericks have a Kentucky connection in PJ Washington.

Washington was traded from Charlotte to Dallas in early February and has shined in his role with the team. The former Kentucky forward is averaging 12.9 points and 5.6 rebounds on the season.

Washington is surrounded by stars in Dallas. Young superstar Luka Doncic and veteran guard Kyrie Irving highlight the Maverick’s roster.

The first two games will take place in Boston and then both teams will travel to the Lonestar state of Texas for games three and four.

The Boston Celtics come into the Finals as the favorite to win with odds of -210. Dallas heads into the Finals as the underdog with odds of +184.
