National ‘Wreaths Across America’ day

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A ceremony marking National Wreaths Across America Day will be held Monday afternoon in the Capitol Rotunda, honoring veterans and their families with wreaths placed on their graves.

According to the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, Monday’s event begins at noon and will honor each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. The ceremony kicks off wreath-laying events across the state, leading up to the official National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, December 14.

National Wreaths Across America Day is an annual tradition to remember and honor veterans by placing wreaths on their graves in cemeteries nationwide. This event serves as a moment of reflection and gratitude for the sacrifices made by military members and their families.
