Names of victims in fatal Pike County accident released

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have released the names of two people killed in a motorcycle accident in Pike County.

According to State Police, 56-year-old James Shepherd and his passenger, 76-year-old Geneva Hunter, died when the motorcycle they were on crashed on Upper Johns Creek Road in the Kempber area on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say Shepherd lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway and went into a creek bed.

Both were declared dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.
