“Najee in the Key of C” – The Links, Inc.

Katie Solove sits down with Kim Ballentine, with The Links, Inc., to talk about the upcoming “Najee in the Key of C” concert, to be held at the Lexington Opera House.

Two-time Grammy nominated saxophonist and flautist, Najee has collaborated with music giants Prince, Quincy Jones to Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and Herbie Hancock. Najee’s technical agility, grace, compositional prowess, unbridled passion and fearless genre bending have made him one of the most sought after musicians of his generation. With two Platinum and four Gold albums under his belt, Najee is an icon whose musical vision spawned an entire new genre by fusing the music close to his heart: Rhythm & Blues and Jazz.

Established in 1968, the Frankfort/Lexington (KY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is a dynamic organization of women committed to increasing cultural, educational, and artistic opportunities in Central Kentucky. Conscientious of our community, our Chapter also addresses health disparities, targeting disease prevention and management among underserved populations.  As a non-partisan organization, we engage in civic activities bolstering voter participation and community public policy awareness.

The concert will take place on Friday, April 7th, at 8:00 p.m.
