Musselman finishes ISCO final round, looks ahead to crucial fall season

Former UK men's golfer shot -14 through the tournament

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Cooper Musselman was too far away from the leaders to mount a title challenge near the end of his ISCO Championship final round, but he knew that every shot counted towards something bigger.

Cooper’s Final Round

“I had some mental mistakes today that weren’t very fun, but other than that I’m pretty pleased with this week,” said Musselman. “I’m going to be pretty confident moving forward.”

Self belief is something that Musselman will surely possess more of. The -14 final line for the Louisvillian is his best ever finish on the PGA Tour.

“That’s obviously a big confidence booster,” said Musselman. “Overall, I’m just trying to steadily get better everyday.”

What’s Next?

The former Wildcat is slated to play in the 105th Kentucky Open on July 23 to 25 at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Fellow former UK golfer, Alex Goff, will be in the field with Musselman.

Back home in Derby City, Cooper will have to be in the top 70 players after 36 holes to make that cut. Otherwise, Cooper doesn’t have much else planned until he heads to PGA Tour Qualifying School in late October.

There, he has a chance to earn a tour card. His mentality, like his goal, is simple.

“Just have everything firing on all cylinders,” said Musselman.

Final Stats

Musselman shot -14 overall at the 2024 ISCO Championship. His individual scores from round one to four are as follows; 71, 62, 72, 69. In all, Cooper had 274 strokes.
