Murray State’s new president being formally installed Friday

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Murray State University’s new president, Robert O. Davies, will be officially installed during a ceremony this week on campus.

Davies began his tenure at Murray on July 14. Previously, he was president of Eastern Oregon University.

He is the school’s 13th president and replaced Tim Miller. Miller became interim president mid-2013 following the departure of Randy Dunn.

Davies will be installed in an investiture ceremony at 2 p.m. CDT Friday in Lovett Auditorium.

The ceremony is open to the public and will also be streamed live online at http://www.murraystate.edu/streaming .
