Murray State raising funds for jazz orchestra recording
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Murray State University has started a crowdfunding campaign to allow the university’s jazz orchestra to make a recording.
The university says the jazz orchestra has never issued a recording. The group’s director, Todd Hill, says participating in making a recording is valuable for students and allows people to listen to the students’ music.
The group has performed at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Conference, the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival and the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
The campaign kicked off Thursday and will last for 30 days. It will be shared through social media and email. The crowdfunding site is http://www.raceralumni.com/bebold .
