Murdered Kentucky National Guardsman laid to rest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Friends and family said their final goodbyes to 24-year-old Joseph Trevor Dilger Saturday.

Investigators say the Kentucky National Guardsman was murdered on September 4th and his body was found in a burned car off of Redd Road in Lexington.

Police have charged three people in connection to the murder — Jeremy Harris, 21, Christie Hanley, 32 and Justin Sloan, 23.

Harris is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Hanley and Sloan are charged with with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Details on what led to the murder have not been revealed.

Dilger was buried with full military honors.
