Murder Suspect Extradited Back To Kentucky

 A suspect in the murder of a Lexington man was extradited back to Kentucky.
 Terrence Sims, 43, is charged with the murder of Steven Kavanaugh.
 Kavanaugh’s body was found back on June 4, 2010 in an alley off Elsmere Street.
 According to court documents, the Kentucky State Police Central Forensic Lab notified Lexington police that it had a DNA match with an offender sample from Michigan State Police.
 Documents said the offender was Sims.
 Police said detectives interviewed Sims in Michigan and he said he and Kavanaugh met for a drug transaction.
 Police said Sims went on to say the two then got into a fight and struggled over Sims’ gun and Kavanaugh was shot.
 Sims has been extradited back from Michigan and is in the Fayette County Detention Center.
