Murder investigation in Jessamine Co.

According to the Jessamine Co. Sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home on Hartley Drive Friday morning around 6:45 a.m.  Investigators say they found 43-year-old Shane Washington dead on his back porch.  Officials say the death appeared to be the result of a fight.

48-year-old Thomas W. Carson has been charged in the murder.  Carson is in custody.

A fund has been set up to help the family of Shane Washington offset funeral expenses.  Donations can be made at the Bank of Lexington to the “Branches on the Vine Ministries” donation fund. Donators need to tell tellers it is for the “Shane Washington” fund.
