Murder charge for Jamestown mother in death of daughter
JAMESTOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Russell County Sheriff says a mother has been charged with murder after the death of her daughter in a traffic collision on Saturday.
According to the Sheriff, at about 7:45 a.m., 26-year-old Jessica G. Warriner pulled into the path of an oncoming truck while trying to cross KY 379 from French Valley Road to Blair School Road. The truck, headed southbound, hit the passenger side of Warriner’s car, injuring her and her daughter, 3-year-old Chloe Fortenberry.
Warriner was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital to be treated, while her daughter was airlifted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. The Sheriff says the little girl died on Sunday morning.
The driver of the truck was treated and released from Russell County Hospital.
Warriner was released from Vanderbilt Hospital Monday evening, and was arrested after returning to Russell County on a warrant charging her with murder in the death of Chloe Fortenberry.
Warriner was taken to the Russell County Detention Center early Tuesday morning.
The investigation into the accident continues.
