Multiple school districts closed due to weather impacts
KENTUCKY (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Winter weather is causing travel issues across the Commonwealth, leading to multiple school closures and delays Tuesday morning.
The Estill County Board of Education shared photos Monday night showing snow-covered roads, announcing that classes are canceled Tuesday due to hazardous conditions. Officials say it will be the district’s first NTI day of the school year.
Other districts closed Tuesday include Breathitt, Floyd, Letcher, Leslie, Menifee, and Wolfe counties. Knott County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
Officials are urging families to check with their local school district before sending children out, as conditions and schedules may change throughout the morning.
