Mt. Sterling Police ending in-house medication drop-offs, shifting to take back events
MT. STERLING, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Mt. Sterling Police Department says it will no longer accept medications for drop-off at the police station.
Starting Thursday, residents who need to dispose of unused or expired medications will instead be able to participate in “take back days” hosted at local businesses. Police say the events will be held about every three months, with announcements posted several weeks in advance.
Officials remind residents not to bring syringes or medical devices. The department encourages the community to take part in these events to safely dispose of medications.
