Motorcyclist chased along GA freeway, hospitalized
ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia state troopers say a motorcyclist who prompted a chase along Interstate 75 during rush hour was thrown from the motorcycle and is hospitalized.
Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Franka Young says the motorcyclist from Kentucky was speeding as they traveled south through Cobb County Monday afternoon. Young says a chase began when the rider refused to stop for a trooper who tried pulling them over.
Young says the motorcyclist later struck a disabled vehicle parked in the emergency lane of the downtown connector, where interstates 75 and 85 meet in midtown and downtown Atlanta. Young says the motorcyclist was thrown from the bike, which continued running until it hit a motorhome.
Young says several charges are pending and the motorcyclist was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
