Mother accused of trying to bring drugs to her son in jail

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A mother is accused of trying to bring crystal meth to her son in jail, according to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say Francis Kay Henson had 12-grams of crystal meth on her at the jail on Friday, September 6, 2019.  Investigators say she was charged with possession of methamphetamine and promoting illegal drugs/contraband.

Jail officials say they believe she was trying to deliver the crystal meth to several people, including her son.

Deputies say they charged Henson’s son, 39-year old Shawn Henson, with trafficking crystal methamphetamine and promoting contraband 1st degree.

Deputies say the investigation continues and that more people could be charged in the case.
