Mother accused of leaving baby alone in apartment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police accuse a Lexington woman of leaving her young son alone.

Police got a call from the manager of an apartment complex at 11:30 a.m. Monday, saying a child could be heard crying in an apartment, but no one was answering the door.

An officer and the manager went inside the apartment and found the 23-month-old baby alone.

Court documents say Parker still had not shown up by the time a social worker took the baby at 3 p.m.

Police say they could not find Parker until the next day.

She is charged with child abandonment.
