Morning Crash Shuts Down I-75 For Three Hours
An early morning crash shut down part of I-75 in Rockcastle County for about three hours on Tuesday, Kentucky State Police said.
The two-vehicle crash happened in the northbound lanes near mile marker 63, Kentucky STrate Police’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement unit said in a press release.
According to state police, troopers found Jeffrey Shempert, 42, from Parrish, Ala. was driving a Freightliner truck in the northbound lanes and struck the rear-end of a 1996 Freightliner truck.
Shempert was transported to Rockcastle Regional Hospital with minor injuries, state police said.
State police said they do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a factor in the crash.
Traffic was routed onto US-25 for nearly three hours while crews worked to clean debris from the interstate, the press release said.
