Morehead man accused of growing marijuana
ELLIOTTVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Rowan County man was arrested Labor Day, accused of growing marijuana, according to State Police.
Investigators say State Police, the KSP Marijuana Eradication Branch, Drug Enforcement/Special Investigation East Branch (DESI) and Troopers from Post 8, found 11 large, mature marijuana plants growing next to a house on Open Fork Road, near Elliottville on Monday afternoon.
Troopers say they also seized several long guns and pistols and a 2007 Ford truck.
Investigators say 53-year old Patrick Whitt, of Morehead, was arrested at the scene and charged with Cultivation of Marijuana over 5 plants and Possession of Marijuana.
He was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center.
The case is still under investigation by KSP.
