Moonshine confiscated, illegal still shut down

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — A moonshine still operation was shut down, according to Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The still operation was discovered on Spout Springs Road in Estill County, and Agents say they seized 12 one-gallon containers of moonshine, a bag of empty jugs, a record book, a small amount of marijuana, as well as the moonshine still itself.

According to the Public Protection Cabinet, State Police found the still while investigating a separate complaint on the property.

The cabinet also says a criminal summons will be obtained for Ronald Ballou, who will likely be charged with unlawful possession/trafficking of alcoholic beverages in dry territory, posession of marijuana, unlawful manufacture of alcoholic beverages, and possession of an apparatus used said unlawful manufacturing.
