Monticello man dies after motorcycle crash on KY-90 in Wayne County
MONTICELLO, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – One person has died following a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Wayne County.
Kentucky State Police say troopers were called around 1:40 p.m. to a crash on KY-90 near Hall Road in Monticello.
According to investigators, 26-year-old Christian Vanover was riding a 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound. Witnesses told troopers Vanover was navigating traffic when he struck the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey driven by 57-year-old Cynthia Smith.
State police say the motorcycle then left the roadway and went down an embankment. Vanover was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Vanover was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Smith and a passenger in her vehicle were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
