Monticello man arrested on gun, drug trafficking charges
MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Monticello man was arrested Sunday after he was allegedly found in possession of a large amount of drugs and guns in his home.
On Sunday, Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron says his office received complaints about suspected drug trafficking at a home on Sharpe Lane.
Around 7 p.m., deputies went to the home and smelled a “strong odor of marijuana” from inside.
A search warrant was obtained and executed around 11 p.m.
Deputies allegedly found 3 pounds of marijuana, 8 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of methamphetamine, six packages of THC gummies, 14 grams of mushrooms, six THC vapes, a bag of THC wax, four sets of digital scales, plastic bags, a Colt 45 handgun, a Taurus 9mm handgun and $866 in cash.
Carlso Nazario was arrested for menacing, resisting arrest, trafficking in marijuana, two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in a synthetic drug, two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
While Nazario was being booked into the Wayne County Detention Center, jailers allegedly found another bag of methamphetamine.
He was charged with promoting contraband and possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $50,000.
