Monday waste collection moved to Wednesday because of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day holiday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — There is no city waste collection in Lexington on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
According to the City of Lexington, Monday curbside customers will have their trash and recycling picked up on Wednesday instead. Carts should be placed at the curb after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The city says businesses with Monday dumpster service will be collected on Tuesday, while Tuesday service will move to Wednesday. All other pickup schedules will remain unchanged.
In addition, the Lexington Recycle Center, the Electronics Recycling Center, and the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility will be closed on Monday.
