Mom Pleads Not Guilty To Leaving Daughter In Hot Car

A Lexington woman accused of leaving her daughter and dog in a hot car so she could go shopping on Sunday, has plead not guilty to the charges.

Jill Nowlin was in court on Wanton Endangerment charges Monday afternoon. Nowlin rolled down the windows in her car a few inches, and then left her 4-year-old daughter and dog inside so she could go shopping at the Old Navy store in the Hamburg Pavilion, according to investigators. Police said Nowlin was inside the store for around 40 minutes, and the temperature was near 90 degrees outside.

Nowlin is scheduled to be back in court on July 10th. Her daughter is now in the care of relatives, according to police.
