Mobile mammography bus visits Lee County
LEE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to kick off the month, the Kentucky Department of Public Health is taking screenings on the road.
The big pink bus is actually a mammography center. It was in Lee County today making sure those who may not be able to find a ride to the doctor have the opportunity to have a breast cancer screening.
The Health Departments says mammograms are the key to early detection of breast cancer.
According to the CDC, women ages 50-74 should have a screening done at least once every two years.
