Mobile clinics to provide free health services to FCPS students

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fayette County Public Schools, HealthFirst Bluegrass, and United Healthcare are collaborating to offer Lexington students access to free healthcare through mobile clinics. These clinics will provide medical services such as check-ups, sports physicals, and immunizations at no cost.

Many children miss out on necessary medical care, often due to the difficulty of scheduling appointments. “As a working mom, I can attest to it being so hard to get your kid into the pediatrician’s office for a well-child visit, so we thought about ways to bring care to people that might have needs,” said Krista Hensel, CEO of United Healthcare Community Plan of Kentucky.

While walk-ins will be accepted, appointments are preferred to ensure smooth service. This initiative aims to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for students and their families.
