Missing Pulaski County Woman Found Dead; Arrest Warrant Issued For Boyfriend

The search for a missing Pulaski County woman had a tragic end.

On Tuesday, Monica Wells’ family reported her missing after she uncharacteristically had no contact with them all day.

Detectives said Wells had a fight with her live-in boyfriend, Johnny Hendrix, that morning at their home.

Because of the evidence recovered from the home, detectives said they feared Wells had been severely injured or killed in the assault.

The Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad searched the area and found Wells’ body in a sink hole near the house.

Investigators said they believed Hendrix assaulted Wells and then took her body into the remote area on an ATV before dumping her in the sink hole.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hendrix on Wednesday charging him with domestic assault. Investigators said those charges were expected to be upgraded to murder.

Investigators said Hendrix was on the run and was believed to be with his brother, Freddy Pennington, in a black 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier with Kentucky tag 793 PJJ.

Investigators said they believed Pennington was a witness to the assault and wanted to talk to him.

Authorities said Hendrix, 35, was considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information as to his location was asked to contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 678-5145 or another local law enforcement agency.
