Missing North Carolina child found in Pike County

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A 16 month old child missing from North Carolina has been found safe in Pike County.

The Appalachian News Express reports the child was with the biological parents, Tommie Varner and Amy Adkins, who used to live in Pikeville.

Varner and Adkins aren’t supposed to have custody. Police in North Carolina pinged Varner’s phone.

Then KSP troopers used that to pull over his car on Kentucky 122 at Robinsons creek.

The child was in a safety seat in the back.
