Mike Hartline Returns to UK as Offensive Quality Control Coach
Hartline was a quarterback at Kentucky from 2006-10
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- A former Wildcat quarterback is back home in the Bluegrass, this time as a coach.
Mike Hartline, who was under center for Kentucky from 2006 to 2010, returns as offensive quality control coach for the 2025 season.
With a decade of coaching experience, Hartline has stopped at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Auburn, Charlotte and Coastal Carolina.
“We are excited for Mike Hartline to return to Kentucky,” said Head Coach Mark Stoops. “It was the right time and opportunity to bring him back and I know he will be an asset to our coaching staff.”
As a Wildcat, Hartline threw for over 5,600 yards and 38 touchdowns and guided the Cats to three wins in a row versus Louisville from 2008 to 2010.
He is the only UK quarterback to be the starter in three consecutive wins over the Cardinals.
After his collegiate career, he had stints in the with the Indianapolis Colts in 2011 and New England Patriots in 2012.
“When I first got into coaching it was always in the back of my mind how thrilled I would be to return to Kentucky, and if the timing was right I wouldn’t hesitate to come back,” said Hartline. “My coaches made an incredible impact on me and I hope to return the favor.”
