Michigan’s DJ Wallar transfers to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – On Saturday, former Michigan defensive back DJ Wallar announced that he was transferring to Kentucky.

In his lone season with the Wolverines, Waller racked up 12 tackles with one pass deflection across six games, earning Michigan freshman defensive player of the week honors five times. And of course, he was a member of the 2024 national championship team.

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore raved about the defensive back during spring practice, calling Waller a “star in the making.”

He will have three years of eligibility remaining in Lexington.
