Mercer County High School Earns ‘Best Healthcare App’ Honors

A mobile app developed by a team of students at Mercer County Senior High School in Harrodsburg earned special recognition as the Best Healthcare App Team Concept in the nation in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge.

The team’s app, One Care, helps people save commonly used medical forms, prescription reminders and information about important medical issues.

Mercer County Senior High was one of 11 top schools in the nation to win at the final stage of the competition.

The Mercer County team earned a $5,000 grant to enhance STEM education at the school, as well as access to virtual training in how to build out their app concept.
