Medicaid Announcement

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to announce whether he will expand the state’s Medicaid program to possibly cover thousands more Kentuckians. The state’s medicaid program provides medical coverage to about 800,000 people, but the "Federal Affordable Care Act" is now allowing states to expand coverage. The federal government would fully fund the expansion for three years and the state’s share would gradually increase to 10 percent by 2020.
