Measles exposure alert issued for Riney-B Aquatic Center in Jessamine County
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Health officials have issued a measles exposure alert for the Riney-B Aquatic Center in Jessamine County after a confirmed case was linked to the facility.
According to a joint release from the Jessamine County Health Department (JCHD) and the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH), the confirmed case may have exposed others to the virus on June 20, 2025, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that spreads through the air and can linger for up to two hours after an infected person has left an area. It can cause serious health complications, especially in babies, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
If you were at the Riney-B Aquatic Center during the date and time listed, you are advised to monitor for symptoms of measles for up to 21 days after exposure. Symptoms may include:

Fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes

A rash that typically begins on the face and spreads downward

You are likely protected from measles if:

You’ve had two doses of the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine, or
