McCreary County To Remain ‘Dry’ After Tuesday’s Vote
The push to allow alcohol sales in McCreary County was defeated by 47-votes during Tuesday’s wet-dry election.
According to the clerk’s office, the final vote was 2,532-to-2,485 to remain ‘dry.’
It was much closer than the last wet-dry vote in the county in 1983 when the ‘dry’ vote won by a commanding 3-to-1 margin.
Under law, three years must pass before another county-wide wet-dry vote can be held.
