McConnell: “Tonight is a Great Night for the Commonwealth”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – Senator Mitch McConnell has weighed in on the results of Tuesday’s elections in the state.
In a statement, McConnell says, “Tonight is a great night for the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” and offered congratulations to Rand Paul, Jamie Comer, and “all of my republican Congressional colleagues.”
McConnell points out that the victories put both the state House and Senate under Republican control.
“By winning the state House, and holding onto the state Senate, a Republican state legislature can work with Governor Bevin to truly move our state forward,” wrote McConnell.
Following today’s elections, the Kentucky House and Senate will be controlled by Republicans for the first time since 1920.
