Mayor Linda Gorton to name new Urban County Council member for Lexington’s 3rd District
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A new representative is about to step in for Lexington’s 3rd District on the Urban County Council.
Mayor Linda Gorton is set to appoint a new council member Tuesday morning, following the resignation of former council member Hannah LeGris last month.
According to the mayor’s office, the newly appointed council member will be sworn in at 9 a.m. at the Government Center on East Main Street.
City leaders have not yet released the name of the appointee, but the new member will immediately begin representing residents in the 3rd District.
