Mayor joins Volunteers of America
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton is teaming up with Volunteers of America to celebrate the opening of a new support center for veterans.
City leaders are cutting the ribbon Thursday on the Veterans’ Unity Point Resource and Support Center, located at the Kenwick Community Center on Owsley Avenue.
Organizers say the facility will provide veterans with crucial resources, community connections, and support services.
The event begins at noon, but viewers can still watch the livestream on the City of Lexington’s official YouTube channel.
