Lexington to formally close its 250th anniversary celebration Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Mayor Linda Gorton will officially mark the end of Lexington’s year-long 250th anniversary celebration during a news conference Monday afternoon.

The event is set for 5 p.m. at Central Bank Center, where Gorton will be joined by 250LEX co-chairs Dr. Eunice Beatty and Kip Cornett.

Monday’s announcement will formally close out a full year of events, programs and community activities honoring Lexington’s 250 years of history, culture and growth. The anniversary initiative showcased the city’s past while highlighting the people and stories that continue shaping its future.
