MATT GROVES – Reporter
Matt joined the ABC 36 team in May 2014 after spending nearly three years in Rockford, Illinois at WREX.
Living and working in Lexington is a homecoming of sorts for Matt. He grew up little more than an hour away in Augusta, KY before spending his college years (Olivet Nazarene University) in Illinois. Aside from campus TV, Matt’s first dip into the journalism pool came at The Maysville Ledger-Independent in Maysville, KY where he covered the Fleming County beat and learned what true, honest journalism is from a newsroom full of great writers. Shortly after, he moved to Rockford where he reported and anchored, interviewing public figures like The Rev. Jesse Jackson, presidential candidate Mitt Romney and numerous state officials.
Now Matt is settled down in Central Kentucky and he’s glad to be here. A life-long Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds fan, Matt loves sports and plays just about anything out there. Matt also enjoys engaging with viewers and getting ideas for stories on social media. He’s very active on Facebook and Twitter and would love to hear from you!
