Mass held to remember the legacy of Father Norman Fischer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — On Thursday, the legacy of Father Norman Fischer, a prominent spiritual figure in the Lexington community was honored at Lexington Catholic High School.
Family, friends, colleagues and among other who knew Fr. Fischer gathered for mass at the high school’s gym, to honor his memory.
From former students of the high school, to other priests highlighting how selfless and caring Father Fischer was.
Fischer was the pastor at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and a chaplain at Lexington Catholic High School.
Fr. Fischer passed away on Sunday, during his passing, Fischer was on a sabbatical assisting the Catholic Heart Work Camp in Delaware.
Many have expressed the significant void Fischer left among parishioners and students.
Funeral arrangements have also been announced for Fischer.
Visitation will be on Saturday July 27th from 12pm – 6 pm, at 485 W. Fourth Street, St. Peter Claver, and Sunday the 28th from 3:30pm to 8pm at St. Peter Claver.
His funeral mass will be the following Monday, July 29th, at 11 am. at The Cathedral of Christ The King, followed by the burial at Calvary Cemetery.
