Mask mandate stays in place for Fayette Co. Schools after unanimous vote
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Board of Education unanimously voted Monday night to continue requiring a universal mask mandate.
The district, for the past year, has had a mask mandate. Monday’s motion was to ask the board to extend that requirement.
The mandate requires masks in all FCPS vehicles and school buses. Students will be required to wear masks, only being allowed to lower their mask while outside or actively eating or drinking.
The same applies to staff members, while also being allowed to lower their mask if alone in their classrooms.
The 5-0 vote also requires all contractors and visitors to mask up regardless of vaccination status.
