Maryland man now facing rape and federal charges in kidnapping of Rockcastle County teen

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Maryland man accused of kidnapping a teenage girl from Rockcastle County is now facing additional charges, including rape and federal offenses, according to jail and court records.

Records show 37-year-old Christian Delgado has been charged with rape and is now also facing federal charges on top of kidnapping and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Authorities say Delgado was transferred Wednesday from the Rockcastle County Detention Center to the Laurel County Detention Center.

As previously reported, investigators say Delgado is accused of taking the 13-year-old girl from Rockcastle County to a home in Maryland. Officers say the victim was located during Delgado’s arrest in late December before he was brought back to Kentucky to face charges.

Court records indicate Delgado is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment next Friday, February 13.
