Many Miles for Malakai Challenge

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Lexington community is once again lacing up its running shoes to support Malakai, a young boy who was left blind after a 2020 drive-by shooting.

The “Many Miles for Malakai 4x4x48 Challenge” kicks off Thursday night at the North YMCA, where more than 100 runners—from as far as Texas and even Scotland—will take part. Participants will run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.

The event begins with a community celebration, featuring food, games, music, and a family fun run. All proceeds from the challenge go toward helping children affected by gun violence rebuild their lives.
