Manchester man arrested after wild police chase in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Manchester man is behind bars after a police pursuit in Wayne County that authorities say involved a stolen truck, a fleeing passenger, and a foot chase through a residential yard.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Adams refused to stop for a traffic violation on Highway 92 on Tuesday. Deputies say Adams sped away, nearly hitting another vehicle during the chase.

At one point, a passenger jumped out of the truck, but Adams continued driving before leaving the road, pulling into a yard, and running away on foot.

Deputy James Barnett ran after and caught up to Adams, using force to make the arrest.

Investigators say Adams later admitted the truck had been stolen from his girlfriend, and that he was also wanted on a drug trafficking warrant out of Boyle County.

He was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center, where he remains on multiple felony charges. The passenger was questioned and released.
