Manager: ‘Professionals’ robbed my store

Lexington Police are investigating a gas station robbery on Red Mile Road near the intersection of Versailles Road.

The manager of the Marathon station says whomever the thieves were they were professionals.

He says the bandits disabled the alarm and the surveillance cameras and even removed the safe which was bolted to the floor. He says the ATM machine was also busted open and robbed and that about 2,000 dollars worth of cigarettes was also taken.

Police say the incident happened overnight Saturday and that the break-in wasn’t discovered until the owner came to open the store around 8am Sunday.
