Man wanted on attempted murder charge arrested

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man wanted for attempted murder and robbery was arrested on May 23 in Flat Lick following a coordinated operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Edwards was taken into custody without incident at the end of Turkey Creek Road. The arrest was part of a joint effort between the Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, U.S. Marshals, ATF, and the Kentucky National Guard.

Following the arrest, Fish and Wildlife officers used a K9 to recover a discarded firearm believed to be linked to Edwards.

Officials say Edwards faces federal charges filed by the ATF, in addition to local charges for attempted murder and first-degree robbery in Knox County.
