Man wanted after mistakenly being released

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State officials say a man serving five years in prison was mistakenly released after a court hearing.

The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer reports 34-year-old Michael Bishop was serving a sentence for flagrant nonsupport in Ohio County when he was taken to Jefferson County last month for a hearing on other charges.

After that hearing, he was released instead of being taken back to prison.

Thursday, a warrant was issued for him on escape charges.
