Man wanted in Indiana arrested in Simpson County cornfield

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police have arrested a man wanted on multiple serious charges in Indiana after he was found hiding in a cornfield in Simpson County.

Authorities say 28-year-old Cody Medsker was wanted in Indiana for charges including kidnapping, burglary, and two counts of rape. KSP received an alert indicating Medsker was in the area and had been spotted at a gas station driving a red Chevy truck.

When officers arrived at the gas station, Medsker allegedly ran from the scene and attempted to hide in a nearby cornfield. K-9 units were deployed, and Medsker was eventually located and taken into custody.

Medsker now faces additional charges in Kentucky, including wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing and evading, resisting arrest, and indecent exposure. He is currently being held in the Simpson County Jail.
